Back To School Beading Technique

When we all go back to school which we all know will happen way too fast. You might want some jewelry to mix and match with your new outfits. I’ve figured out a way to bead so that only a couple of pieces of jewelry can last you a whole school year.

First you take a string of any kind. Personally I like elastic string because it is easier to put on, but any kind works as long as it is thin enough to thread your beads through your string. So after you have your string, tie a knot at the end of the string, because you don’t want the beads to be sliding off the end. If you prefer, you can also just hold it up with your hands but that makes it a little more difficult to do the actual beading. Then if you don’t already have some beads, you might want to buy some and if you are buying to make back to school jewelry, try to find some neutral colors because they go with everything! To start beading, if possible take a couple of the same beads. If you don’t use the same beads it looks a little different but different can be good! Then take some seed beads. For those of you who don’t know what seed beads are, they are really tiny beads that work well with small beads and thin string. My usual beading technique is bead, seed -bead, seed- bead, bead. If the color palette was olive green I would probably take an olive green bead and then maybe a white seed bead or a color that goes with the olive green bead and looks pretty. After, either I or a friend would make sure it was long enough. If it wasn’t, then just repeat your pattern until it is long enough. Then I would take a pair of scissors and snip of the knots then tie the two strands together. Then you’re done. Happy Beading!!
